  • Defending the leather industry’s interests vis-à-vis the authorities in the areas of industrial and social policy, and of legal and environmental issues.
  • Representing and defending the leather industry vis-à-vis EU and international organisations.
  • Maintaining a dialogue between the social partners, at both domestic and European level.
  • Advising and assisting manufacturers with exporting their products: seeking new outlets, involving and promoting the French tanning industry in events held abroad, market research.
  • Facilitating members’ participation in domestic and international events.
  • Promoting, guiding and organising scientific research in the fields covered by the leather industries.
  • Monitoring the preparation of standards.
  • Providing members with information on current legal and regulatory requirements, and how to apply them.
  • Ensuring that legal provisions are complied with, in relation to product origin, fraud prevention, unfair competition, counterfeiting, and more generally, all provisions regulating the activities we represent.
  • Encouraging the creation of groupings of companies with a view to developing strategies of mutual interest.
  • Organising and developing the training provision within the industry.
  • Promoting collaboration between industry and technical education in the field of leather.
